JOB DETAILS:
Main Role: To coordinate entrepreneurship programs and over see its successful implementation in all the projects.

Job Description
• To promote strategic entrepreneurship programming throughout the organization project areas
• Plan and coordinate the operations of the organization’s entrepreneurship activities like micro-loan
• In consultation with the development coordinator plan and coordinate the operations of the organization’s school grants and OVC animal empowerment support.
• Coordinate the building of positive relations between the organization and the PPC on identification and selection of beneficiaries
• Occasionally meet the potential micro-loan groups and animal loan beneficiaries; and devise plans of managing conflicts and motivating both staff and beneficiaries in the event of distress/hardship.
• Ensure micro-loan group business plan template and/or checklist, including provisional income statement and balance sheet, to be used to prepare business plans are filled by micro-loan groups and not the staff.
• Oversee (provide coaching, technical assistance, and supervision) to staff and to some extent micro-loan groups during group business plan development process after the training program.
• In coordination with the national director organize and lead the assessment and giving of feedback to the groups through the project staff on the submitted business plans before submitting them to the national director for approval.
• Develop an implementation plan that will guide the recruitment, monitoring and the roll-out of micro-loan groups beneficiaries.
• In consultation with the development coordinator, develop an implementation plan that will guide the recruitment, monitoring and the roll-out of OVC animal empowerment and school grants beneficiaries.
• Design and implement a follow up analysis of specific micro-loan group business opportunities identified during the training to the detail of specific time and resource commitment to the program, own contribution and capital required to get started and expected return on investment by the groups.
• Develop and implement a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the micro-loan groups beneficiaries committed to work as groups to create income generation activities, milestones, timelines, and success indicators.

• Evaluate existing entrepreneurship guides and develop a program operational guide detailing the process for the various business opportunities containing recruitment, screening, engagement requirements, continuous progress/performance assessment, exit or change of opportunity, etc.
• Develop and implement a specific approach to business coaching and mentoring, in liaison with the project staff and micro-loan groups/beneficiaries which lists specific outcome indicators, measurement, frequency, and benchmarks.
• Design/modify and implement a periodic check-in form (including a series of checklists by business type) and additional tools from the training curriculum to help the micro-loan groups and animal empowerment beneficiaries to keep track of their business growth and progress, to inform program reporting and ongoing support by the project staff and the entrepreneurship coordinator.
• Identify appropriate local financial service providers (FSP); e.g., savings groups, Micro Finance Institutions (MFI), Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), commercial banks; Micro Financing Banks to ensure microloan groups and animal empowerment beneficiaries can successfully connect with to the FSPs markets as they start, develop, and grow their businesses.
• Encourage establishment and maintenance of an effective relationships with micro-loan groups and animal empowerment beneficiaries for communication via phone, and in-person by the project staff.
• Encourage project to coordinate and arrange client events, meetings, and assessment forums for groups according to the period they were supported with funds.
• Continue to update client database on combined micro-loan tracker for all projects for submission to the national director in readiness for submission to the donors.
• Tracking all micro-loan groups to identify those almost entering the risk group for intervention to avoid the groups from entering the risk challenge.
• Encourages the intentional focus of the impact of applying entrepreneurial principals to all the micro-loan groups and animal empowerment beneficiaries in the projects. – Ensure mid and post evaluation of micro-loan groups is conducted by the projects and submitted to the entrepreneurship coordinator for submission to the national director.
• Assess and identify gaps in entrepreneurship programs within the project areas to advise, coach, train/build capacities of staff and vulnerable beneficiaries within the organization.
• Conduct planned monitoring support visits of micro-loan and animal empowerment programs in the project areas and address areas of immediate need to avoid unplanned happenings
• Prepare and submit reports on all entrepreneurship (micro-loan and animal empowerment) activities in the projects to the national director for final compilation and submission of the country report to the donors

Desired Qualifications
• Full grade 12, Minimum of a Degree or equivalent, A Masters will be an added advantage
Desirables
• Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Education, Social Work, Development Studies.
• Experience working with NGOs, Christian based organization, micro-finance or accounting enterprises
