Role overview
Worldwide, over seventy million people are forcibly displaced as a result of conflict or persecution . Displaced persons include refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), asylum-seekers and stateless people. Four out of every five refugees forced to flee their homes are hosted in neighbouring countries, including those in which VSO operates. Host countries include Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Many of the basic needs of displaced people remain unmet. In accordance with VSO’s mission to address marginalization and poverty, the Education Practice Area has implemented Education in Emergencies (EiE) programming in several host countries for the past two years, namely Uganda, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. At present, the Health Practice Area does not implement programs aimed at addressing the unmet health needs of displaced people.The consultant will conduct a scoping exercise to determine the current state of sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (SRMNCH) and associated programming in two refugee settlements, to inform potential future health programming. .

Skills, qualifications and experience
• Educational qualification in relevant area (i.e., Research; Monitoring and Evaluation; Public Health)
• Demonstrated experience conducting scoping exercises, landscape analyses, or similar

• Excellent written and verbal communication and time-management skills
