Summary of the job:

The Facilities Lead will be responsible for ensuring construction of Generation sites at all One Power concessions

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of equipment, infrastructure and facilities to support worker teams and the mechanical completion and commissioning of power generation and storage, cabling for interconnections, circuit protections, sensors, SCADA, utilities, and security equipment and systems
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures to implement designs and provide necessary feedback based on encountered site conditions and as-built results
  • Coordination with company planning, procurement and logistics thrusts for delivery of project outcomes
  • Oversight of the maintenance of the installation and delivery plant and fleet equipment supporting the project
  • Coordination with local authorities in maintaining alignment and compliance in the delivery of the project
  • Coordination of internal and external labour, ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines, and that onboarding and training complies with company policies
  • Progressing and monitoring construction and installation processes, and providing timely reports to management
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Writing up budgets, updating project plans, and presenting to and communicating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Staying up-to-date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
  • Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff.
  • Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.
  • Assessing site conditions to ensure they are suitable for facilities installations
  • Measuring and marking areas for installation
  • Making adjustments / improvements to site conditions to accommodate the works
  • Familiarizing and usage of a variety of technical equipment and tools

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Construction Management with Minimum 3 years work experience in a similar role or/
  • Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Construction Management plus minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in power generation or industrial facilities or construction.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced document formatting capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing operational requirements and emergency situations
