We are seeking a young highly skilled and motivated Field Technician Intern specializing in electrical, solar, plumbing, and general water reticulation equipment installations to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the field service team in providing installation, maintenance, and repair services for various plumbing and water treatment systems at customer sites. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the intern will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Support technicians to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing and water treatment systems, including but not limited to water softeners, filtration systems, pumps, pipes, and fixtures.
  • Participate in regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
  • Participate in diagnosis and solution of technical issues promptly and efficiently, both onsite and remotely.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify their needs and provide appropriate solutions, including recommending upgrades or additional services.
  • Conduct site surveys, collect user requirements, and refer sales leads to Sales teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, using company-provided tools and software.
  • Support service technicians in carrying out installations, provide technical support in field and in workshops.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Holder of Diploma/HND with Credit in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems, water treatment processes, and related equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and controls.
  • Knowledge in electrical equipment installation, including pumps, generators, and solar equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to customer sites as required.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Quick learner.
  • Strong communication & customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
