JOB PURPOSE
To oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation and financial analysis.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
- • Contributing to the formation of the Business Strategy and ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are sound
- • Preparing the periodic financial statements & management accounts on monthly basis and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal purposes, group and statutory requirements.
- • Preparing the Annual operating plan, monthly flash and forecast to drive business performance.
- • Manage Trust Bank balances and ensure they are within the BOZ guidelines and internal limits set up by the Company.
- • Managing the cash and liquid assets of the Company with a view to ensuring that obligations to customers are met as and when due
- • Presenting operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval at group or regional level.
- • Managing internal and external audit exercises by preparing and executing audit requirements to ensure achievement of desired outcomes.
- • Ensure timely completion and coordination of Quarterly Audits with no qualification or material adjustments.
- • Reviewing and preparing corporate governance compliance on annual audited financial statements.
- • Managing compliance with regulatory M-commerce processes and procedures by ensuring that all processes are compliant to avert the risk of regulatory reprimands.
- • Developing and implementing financial control policies and procedures
- • Ensuring all processes and controls are well documented and updated on a regular basis
- • Following up all revenue assurance & anti money laundering reviews, ensuring they are always done and compliant and that Airtel Money is compliant with all tax requirements / legislation.
- • Ensuring that all processes are implemented according to the set policies and procedures.
- • Managing relationships with clients by ensuring a smooth flow of information to ensure that the business maintains an optimal network for its business needs.
- • Ensuring compliance with banking regulations and adherence to Central Bank stipulations on MCommerce operations.
- • Preparing and presenting financial and non-financial results to Board Meeting & Audit Committee
- • Ensuring FX availability for vendor payments and Dividend Upstreaming
- • Thorough knowledge and experience of Bank of Zambia Regulation, IFRS, Taxation and Treasury Management
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:
- • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field.
- • Professional qualification: CA/ ZICA / CPA /ACA / ACCA/CIMA
- • Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
- • Excellent knowledge of all accounting functional areas (mandatory)
Relevant Experience:
- • Minimum of 15 years work experience of Finance Spanning Corporate, Business Planning, Revenue Assurance, Treasury Management and Accounting in large organisation with adequate knowledge about Telecom Business
- • Experience in Banking/ financial & regulatory reporting or exposure to negotiations with regulators and banking institutions and statutory reporting.
- • Exposure to an ERP environment.
- • Exposure of working in different markets.
- • Ability to manage Telecom / Fintech Nuances in a complex accounting environment.
- • Prior work experience in a Large Multinational company in a similar position is critical.
- • Strong communication skills
- • Highly result oriented and believes in teamwork
