JOB DETAILS:
Musekese Conservation is a Zambian-run NGO dedicated to securing core areas of the Greater Kafue Ecosystem through resource protection, research and monitoring, and community outreach.
Musekese Conservation is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join its team as a Finance and Grants Manager. This role is essential in ensuring sound financial management, grant compliance, and transparent reporting across all our projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Include But Are Not Limited To)
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Develop and manage grant budgets, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal use and to meet donor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and organisational financial policies.
• Lead on audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Monitor grant expenditures and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Build the capacity of project staff in financial management and grant compliance.
• Develop high-quality proposals and plans that align with Musekese Conservation’s strategy and donor requirements.
• Collaborate with management to monitor funding needs, identify opportunities, and address gaps.
Requirements
To be successful in the role of Finance and Grants Manager you should possess:
• At least two (2) years of practical experience working in the NGO sector.
• Proven Leadership skills and experience.
• Exceptional communication and time-management skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English, working knowledge of languages local to the programme areas is desirable.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree required with master’s degree or equivalent work experience desirable.
• Excellent report writing skills and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Office, and Excel.
Remuneration And Terms
Negotiable based on experience and to be discussed with the successful candidate.
