The consultancy opportunity is with SavvyPro, located in Lusaka, for an HR Consultant position. SavvyPro, a people-centered digital business training and mentorship ecosystem founded by Susan Mwenda-Mulongoti, is seeking a part-time, project-based HR/People Operations Consultant to support its growth phase, which includes building a team, expanding into a larger space, upgrading systems, and fostering a tribe with standards and performance.
Requirements:
- Experience with fast-moving startups, not corporate HR
- Ability to enforce high-performance standards
- Knowledge of Zambian labour law and remote work best practices
- Experience with hiring, contracts, onboarding, and performance management
- Skills to protect founder time and energy, preventing burnout
- Comfort advising a founder-led, vision-driven business
- Willingness to provide clear, direct advice
- Experience with remote or hybrid teams
- Understanding of African markets and small business context
Initial 6-8 week tasks:
- Develop clear hiring and onboarding processes
- Create strong, fair contracts
- Implement a simple performance management system
- Establish role and accountability structures
- Ensure compliance and high performance
- Provide as-needed advisory support
Work model:
- Based in Lusaka with a remote/hybrid approach
- Team is partly remote, partly local
- Heavy use of tech platforms and communication
- Culture emphasizing speed, clarity, heart, and high standards

- Bureaucracy
- Soft language
- Candidates without African small business experience
