Our client in Lusaka, is looking for a Human Resource Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG industry.

HR Officer

About the role:

As our HR Officer, you will be embedded in the heart of the business, implementing and driving HR processes that take care of our employees and enable the business to run smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with line managers to understand team needs and translate them into smart people solutions.
  • Be a sounding board for employees, from onboarding all the way to exit and all the growth in between.
  • Actively manage and resolve employee queries
  • Assist with performance enablement conversations, not just appraisals
  • Help build and drive programs around engagement, wellness, development, feedback, and recognition
  • Challenge things that don’t work and co-create what does
  • Drive recruitment and support manpower planning
  • Be part of team rituals (onboarding, check-ins, engagement initiatives) and help evolve them
  • Maintain confidential and accurate employee records and databases
  • End to end payroll processing – weekly and monthly
  • Processing Tax, NAPSA and NHIMA
  • Leave administration and monitoring of attendance
  • Expatriate/ Immigration management
  • Run, distribute and submit various reports
  • Turn people data into simple insights for better decisions

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Studies in HR, Industrial Psychology, or relevant qualification.
  • 2–4 years of experience in an HR role. Bonus if its in the FMCG industry.
  • Strong listening skills and a nose for the real issue beneath the surface
  • An obsession with employee experience
  • Understanding of labour legislation
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change; you don’t wait for permission to improve things
  • Computer literacy – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Solid customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Sound organizational skills
  • “All candidates are required to obtain their ZAQA certification from the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)”
