Company Description

Nestled along the sweeping banks of the majestic Kafue River, Anantara Kafue River Lodge invites you to be part of an extraordinary safari destination set in one of Africa’s last truly untouched wilderness regions.Our safari camp is looking for a highly skilled and versatile Handyman to support daily maintenance operations across the property. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in carpentry, painting, and swimming pool maintenance, ensuring our camp facilities remain in excellent condition for both guests and staff.

Job Description

  • Perform carpentry work including repairs, installations, fittings, and refurbishments of furniture, fixtures, and structural elements
  • Construct and install custom woodwork, such as shelving, cabinets, and decorative features
  • Carry out painting, varnishing, and finishing tasks to maintain high aesthetic standards, including colour matching and surface preparation
  • Apply various painting techniques and finishes as required for different surfaces and areas
  • Conduct routine pool maintenance: water testing, chemical balancing, cleaning, and equipment checks
  • Perform advanced pool maintenance tasks, including filter cleaning, pump servicing, and tile repairs
  • Troubleshoot and rectify minor plumbing, electrical, and structural issues across the property
  • Support general maintenance activities across guest rooms, team member areas, and public spaces
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain and organise tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruptions to guests
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address potential maintenance issues proactively

Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment

Qualifications

  • Certificate or relevant qualification
  • Proven experience as a multiskilled handyman or maintenance technician
  • Strong carpentry and painting skills
  • Knowledge of swimming pool systems and water treatment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Experience in hospitality, lodges, or remote environments is an advantage

Additional Information.

Full grade twelve school certificate.

Three traceable referees with valid mobile numbers and addresses.
