Chambeshi Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (ChWSSC), is the Utility Company based in Northern and Muchinga Provinces of Zambia providing water and sanitation services under the provision of the Water and Sanitation Act No. 28 of 1997.

Job title: Head Business Development And Faecal Sludge Management-Salary Grade Cms-3
Job Purpose

Responsible for developing business solutions for Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) and formulating effective business plans to generate more revenue for CHWSC as well as devising marketing strategies to attract and ensure customer loyalty, taking into account social and gender issues.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
• Research the market for identifying new business opportunities and present report to management for further consideration.
• Develop business proposals for identified new and existing cluster of customers.
• Develop business and marketing plans in coordination with corporate planning manager and marketing manager respectively, to achieve FSM revenue aims and objectives.
• Analyse budgets and actual performance regarding revenue expenses and service deficiencies in order to provide recommendations for FSM business growth and problem resolution.
• Develop product/service branding and initiate media communication activities such as press releases and advertisements aimed at growing customer base.
• Develop creative strategies to attract and retain customers including interviewing them to take their requirements and feedback to be incorporated in into the business growth plan.
• Develop strong customer relationships in order to generate high volume of prospective customers and explain the advantages of FSM services offered; follow up with them in order to close the business deals and timely respond to customer queries regarding the services.
• Participate in industrial fora, customer discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization to develop in-depth knowledge about best FSM business practices and industry trends.
• Prepares and timely submits monthly reports to Director Commercial Services analysing performance as well as making recommendations for further presentation to Supervisor for action.
• Prepares the budget for FSM in consultation with Supervisor for consolidation in the departmental and Corporate Budget.
• To assess number of households served by each District and to ascertain FSM coverage progress
• Assess volume of sludge emptied by each District and disposed at the FSTP
• Consolidate customer complaints received by customers for each District
• Ensure on-site-sanitation are mapped and captured to facilitate ease of follow-up business and monitoring

Qualifications And Experience
• Grade 12 (Form V) School Certificate including Math & English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Economics or any business-related qualification
• Member of ZICA /ACCA /CIMA, or Zambia Institute of Marketing
• Master of Finance/MBA is an added advantage or its equivalent.
• Proven Business Knowledge and practical experience in an engineering industry or Company.
• 4 years ‘work experience in marketing or similar role, preferably in the water sector is highly desirable.
