Lolebezi Safari Lodge, a luxury safari destination nestled deep in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park, is seeking experienced and passionate Head of Maintenance to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in one of Africa’s most pristine and remote wilderness areas, delivering unforgettable experiences to our local international guests.
Position
Head of Maintenance
Reports to
Assistant Camp Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
- Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repairs and installation activities
- Allocate workload and supervise the whole maintenance team
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
Requirements
- Full grade 12 certificate
- Qualification in Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge in mechanics, plumbing, hydraulics, electricals, electronics (PLC), heating, ventilation, air conditioning, carpentry, welding, machining and fabricating.
- Knowledge of refrigeration will be added advantage
- Computing skills with working knowledge of various office applications, including Excel
- Member of relevant professional body
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a remote location with limited access to urban amenities.

This role is based in a remote safari location with limited connectivity and access to urban conveniences. Candidates must be comfortable with living and working in such conditions for extended periods.
