JOB PURPOSE

A senior Management role that is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Kabundi Resources Limited (KRL) entire procurement and sourcing strategy to drive cost savings initiatives and operational efficiency while aligning with overall business objectives. The position involves leading a supply team, managing key supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy and Policy

Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company goals.

Sourcing and Negotiation

Oversee the sourcing of goods and services, negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms, and manage all aspects of purchase details and delivery.

Contract management

Oversee the Development and Management of contracts to secure value for KRL.

Supplier Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitor their performance, and handle any issues that arise.

Cost and Risk Management

Drive cost-saving initiatives, monitor budgets, perform risk assessments on contracts, and foster a culture of long-term savings.

Market Analysis

Stay informed about market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes, and use data analytics and market intelligence to inform strategic sourcing decisions.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and train the procurement team to enhance performance, professional development, and achieve departmental goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with other departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure procurement strategies support their objectives.

Compliance

Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.

Reporting

Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including procurement metrics and cost savings, to senior management.

Stores and logistics

Management

Ensure effective management of stores and logistics to support operations and commercial respectively.

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Professional Qualifications :

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, MCIPS or equivalent
  • Membership with Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply/CIPS
  • Must possess a clean drivers’ license.

Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position
