JOB PURPOSE:
- To be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an IT Support service to university faculties, schools, and departments in order to contribute to organisation efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitoring and reporting on service requirements and assisting in the development of the IT Support Service, whilst nurturing positive relationships with the University, lecturers, staff, and students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Render end-user support to students and the entire university community in line with agreed service standards.
- Provide inputs and support in the development of common systems and processes based on industry best practices.
- Provide ongoing system maintenance to ensure non-disruption in the provision of IT Support Service, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Maintain a credible Student Management Records System.
- Document incidents and requests to ensure speedy resolution according to agreed procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services, ensuring proper documentation within relevant systems.
- Implement agreed remedies and preventative measures and analyze patterns and trends.
- Participate in the development and conducting of awareness sessions for line managers and their teams to develop their skills both individually and collectively, enabling them to resolve their own IT challenges in the absence of IT officers.
- Perform responsibilities as a system administrator for the Records Management system.
- Participate in the definition, documentation, and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects, identifying, assessing, and managing risks to project success.
- Undertake administrative tasks, including ongoing system support to end users, IT support during school admission, creating student ID numbers, creating accounts on Tutelage, and linking students to their respective batches.
- Take responsibility for own workload and keep supervisor informed, highlighting potential problems and suggesting solutions to ensure continuity of service delivery.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of specific technical solutions and provide expert advice regarding their application.
- Conduct regular helpdesk checks across the institutional infrastructure on both software and hardware.
- Act as a system administrator for University servers and ensure the management of the HU website.
- Create and manage the email platform for all staff.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelors Degree in Information Communication Technology Science or related field
- Age: Above 25 years
