ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The Internship Programme is a learning opportunity aimed at attracting young and talented candidates in Zambia. The programme will provide selected candidate with the opportunity to supplement their academic knowledge with a practical work assignment in a field related to the work of WFP. This will promote better understanding of WFP Zambia’s mandate and programmes. Similarly, the programme will provide WFP with qualified individuals specializing in relevant fields in line with WFP’s Strategic Objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The intern will work with the Monitoring and evaluation unit under the direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
JOB PURPOSE
Support the monitoring and reporting needs of the HGSM team together with the Scaling Up Nutrition Mumbwa project for a specified period. This support will enable WFP among other internal and external reporting and accountability needs, to show case to the Ministry of General Education well packaged and easy to use information products for decision making for the school meal initiative.
In addition, as WFP develops a Handover strategy for the HGSM programme to the government, the intern will support the development of a reliable database to support any proposed handover strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support the M&E unit in designing data collection tools in mobile application such as ONA, MDCA and ODK;
• Supervise data collection exercise such as food distribution, post distribution and outcome monitoring;
• Support carry out Data Quality Assessments (DQA) for WFP’s Cooperating Partners’ monitoring information;
• Ensure all the M&E documents, reports, tools and presentations are properly filed;
• Support in planning key field missions for the M&E unit;
• Attend and capture Notes for the Record during M&E meetings with both internal and external stakeholders
• Participate in analytical, research and operational activities in the area of food security and nutrition, providing insights into project identification and development;
• Perform other related duties as required.
Job Skills:
• Knowledge of various aspects of agricultural financial services and business modelling is a bonus.
• Knowledge and experience of M&E frameworks a plus
• Good analytical skills; resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment, tact, and negotiating skills.
• Ability to perform and deliver results under time pressure.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing and in multiple contexts/formats.
• Ability to frequently travel within the country.
• Strong ability to take initiative with research and analysis and produce valuable results in conditions of uncertainty; solid operational skills including problem solving and time management skills, including ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively and under pressure.
• Professional fluency in English
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point );

 Job Education Requirements:
• Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months areas of Monitoring and Evaluation, International Relations, Social Sciences, Public Health, Economics, Statistics or another related field.
• To be a student in Master (1st or 2nd year) or to have graduated less than 6 month
• Fluent in English
Job Experience Requirements:
• Cultivated sustainable relationships with local NGOs, government authorities, and other implementation partners.
• Has data management experience using variety of analytical tools and methods for causality analysis, forecasting, and other data modeling needs and reporting.
• Performed monitoring, evaluations and assessments at multiple field locations
