LIAS University College has over 10 years of experience in training Health professionals at Diploma level and now Degrees. Having stood a test of time University College has up to date, qualified over 6, 000 Registered Nurses and Clinical Officers. Library Management and Leadership
- Develops and implements the library’s strategic plan in alignment with the College’s mission and goals.
- Ensures the efficient and effective operation of all library services, including circulation, reference, and digital resources.
Supervision of Information Technology and Digital Services
- Oversees the development and implementation of the library’s technology infrastructure.
- Manages the library’s website and online resources.
- Promotes the use of technology to enhance library services and user experience.
- Stays current with emerging technologies and their applications in libraries.
Library Facilities and Operations
- Oversees the physical facilities and operations of the library, including space planning, equipment maintenance, and security.
- Ensures a safe and welcoming environment for library users.
- Develops and implements library policies and procedures.
Collection Development and Management
- Develops and implements collection development policies and procedures.
- Selects, acquires, and manages the library’s print and electronic collections to support the curriculum and research needs of the College community.
- Ensures the preservation and conservation of the library’s collections.
QUALIFICATION
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science
- Minimum of 5 years of experience of which at least 2 years must be in Library Administration
- Demonstrated Leadership and Management Skills
- Strong Knowledge of Library Automation Systems and Technologies
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property law
- Proficiency in library automation systems and databases
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
