Background
SSHJM Inclusive Development Programme Zambia is a faith-based development organisation working to improve the wellbeing and livelihoods of vulnerable communities, including children with disabilities, through inclusive education, food security, and sustainable development initiatives.
SSHJM IDP seeks to recruit a qualified, motivated, and results-oriented Livelihoods Project Officer to support the implementation of its livelihoods and agricultural interventions in Mbala District.
Key Responsibilities
The Livelihoods Project Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring livelihoods and crop production activities.
- Providing technical support and extension services to beneficiary farmers and groups.
- Training communities on sustainable agriculture and climate-smart practices.
- Supporting demonstration plots and school/community gardens.
- Collecting field data and preparing activity reports.
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of project assets, including vehicles and motorbikes.
- Working closely with community stakeholders and local authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must hold a Diploma or Degree in Crop Science or related agricultural field from a recognized institution.
- Must be in possession of a valid Class A driver’s licence.
- Must be a competent motorbike rider.
- At least 2 years’ experience in community-based agricultural or livelihoods projects is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in rural and hard-to-reach communities.

- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Passion for community development and inclusion.
- Good report writing and organisational skills.
