JOB DETAILS:
Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.
This is a 2 year fixed term opportunity to be based in Lusaka, Zambia. Renewal is subject to availability of funding. The person is expected to start in February/March 2023.

The Role
To ensure effective and timely delivery of logistics and administrative support and advice to the country programme by ensuring adequate delivery of administrative and office management systems and procurement of all items and supplies required for the efficient delivery of programme requirements and the smooth running of the country office.
What we are looking for

Essential
• Degree or equivalent related to Logistics Management, Purchasing and Supply, Warehousing Management
• Minimum 3 years’ experience of managing a procurement and administrative function requiring significant knowledge and experience of managing a procurement function, including international purchases
• Good knowledge of local Zambian regulations and requirements regarding purchase contracts, especially for the importation of goods
• Strong numeracy skills and good computer skills (Microsoft Office) and strong attention to detail
• Good people management abilities, able to manage and develop other people’s professional standards and potential
• Good organisational and personal management skills, with ability to work in a team & under pressure, prioritise work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
• Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a proven proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems and suggesting improvements that continuously seek to provide a better service to Oxfam.
• Experience working with external contractors and suppliers, with good influencing and persuasive skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and represent Oxfam in a professional and competent manner
• Good personal communication skills, in written and especially verbal English
Desirable
• Experience in logistics management preferably with an International Non-Governmental Organisation
• Fluency in spoken and written local languages
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly, at times at short notice, locally and regionally
• A critical focus on providing a superior service level to managers and staff and delivering agreed results within time and budget constraints and to expected standards
• Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies and experience of promoting gender equity and diversity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s work
• A high level of self-awareness, personal energy, stamina and flexibility. Ability to work creatively, effectively and under own initiative and willing to put in extra hours to help colleagues when required, including after hours and at weekends
