JOB OBJECTIVE
Responsible for ensuring that all Occupational Health and Safety Institute’s facilities and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition. The role involves routine inspections, repairs, and proactive maintenance of physical assets including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Respond in a timely manner to repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical and operational services
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work completed, including maintenance schedules and logs.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs or installations. Maintain up-to-date material stock-take, tool/equipment schedules, and planned work documentation
- Oversee and, where applicable, supervise the activities of contractors and tradesperson works.
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 school certificate
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, or related technical field.
- Five years proven “hands-on” post qualification experience.
- Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia.
- Technical proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools
- Prior experience in maintenance or facilities management is an advantage
- Good report writing skills
