- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including motor control systems and circuits.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company HSES protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors during system upgrades or modifications.
3. Preventive Maintenance & Safety
- Follow and improve preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan.
- Apply the Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) system when performing maintenance to ensure safe shutdown.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential failures and act before breakdowns occur.
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor to coordinate servicing schedules.
4. Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability (HSES)
- Adhere strictly to HSES standards, including PPE usage, safe handling of tools, and correct procedures.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe practices immediately.
- Support waste management and environmental practices in line with company goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hands-on maintenance in a factory/industrial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, wiring, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Practical knowledge of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and other safety systems.
- Hands-on, problem-solving approach with strong attention to detail.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting ability (mechanical and electrical).
- Safety-conscious and disciplined in following procedures.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize urgent repairs.
- Team player, able to work with production staff and supervisors.
- Record-keeping and basic reporting skills.
Working Conditions
- Industrial factory environment, with regular exposure to machinery, noise, and dust.
- Use of PPE is mandatory.
- Occasional overtime or weekend shifts may be required to support production targets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Maintenance Technician will be evaluated on practical performance and contribution to factory operations, with focus on machine uptime, safety, and quality of work.
1. Equipment Availability
- Keep unplanned downtime on assigned machines below 5% of production hours.
- Complete daily readiness checks for all machines before shifts.
2. Preventive Maintenance Compliance
- Achieve ≥90% completion rate of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on time.
- 100% of preventive maintenance work recorded in the maintenance log.
3. Repair Responsiveness & Efficiency
- Average response time to breakdowns: under 30 minutes.
- First-time fix rate: ≥90%.
- Complete repair reports within 24 hours of intervention.
4. Safety & HSES Compliance
- Zero safety incidents arising from maintenance work.
- 100% adherence to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and PPE use.
