PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing, coordinating, controlling, motivating, planning, training and budgeting of the Company’s resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
i) Oversee all Company operations, including room division, food and beverage outlets, housekeeping, maintenance, and security, to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery.
ii) Prepares and controls the budget for the Company.
iii) Forecasts revenue and expenses, analyzing financial performance, and implementing cost-saving measures to optimize profitability and achieve financial targets.
iv) Lead sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share, including developing sales strategies, targeting key market segments, and cultivating relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other stakeholders.
v) Recruit, train, and supervise hotel staff, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure high service standards and a positive work culture.
vi) Ensures that health and safety standards are adhered to by staff in the Kitchen, laundry and housekeeping and exteriors.
vii) Conduct Annual Performance Appraisals (APAS) and or bi-annual appraisals as situation dictates.
viii) Ensures high standards of product and service quality, conducting regular inspections, and implementing procedures to ensure consistency and excellence in the company
ix) Prepares Board meetings and drafting of minutes.
QUALIFICATIONS
i) Grade 12/Form V School Certificate with five “O” levels including, English.
ii) Minimum of a Degree in the Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism & Travel Management, International Relations, Business Management, Marketing or any related field.
iii) Minimum of 5 years practical experience in hotel management or related field.
iv) Must be Computer literate
i) Participates in controlling and prepares annual purchasing budget. ii) Ensures that payments are made for raised orders. iii) Prepares purchase orders for submission to prospective suppliers. iv) Develops and implements purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures. v) Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for compliance to Public Procurement Act and Regulations. vi) Interview suppliers in order to determine product availability and terms of sale. vii) Negotiates conditions of sale, establish credit facilities and obtains assurance for the supply of materials through signed agreements. viii) Prepares and submits situational, quarterly and annual reports on purchasing and supply issues for information and management decision
i) Grade 12/Form V School Certificate or its equivalent. ii) CIPS Foundation Diploma or Advanced Diploma in CIPS Level 5. iii) At least three (3) years relevant working experience, Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing & Supply. iv) Must be Computer literate
