5. MECHANICS ×8

The ideal candidates will maintain and repair our Agricultural and construction equipment, ensuring top performance, safety compliance and cost efficiency.

Responsibility

Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance – oil changes, lubrication, tire rotations, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace key components such as brakes, engines, transmissions, and steering systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems early.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all vehicles meet company and legal safety standards.
  • Fit and verify safety kits and required equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Workshop Operations

  • Keep the workshop clean, organized, and safe.
  • Handle tools, equipment, and spare parts responsibly.

Teamwork & Reporting

  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to prioritize work.
  • Provide clear updates on vehicle status, repair timelines, and required parts.
  • Contribute to efficiency and continuous improvement within the transport department.

Key Competencies

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High levels of reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and the ability to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Team-oriented with great communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Craft Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or any related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a Mechanic.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple vehicle systems.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic software, manuals, and workshop tools.
  • Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
