1. SAFETY OFFICER

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Safety Officer to join our team in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety protocols to protect employees and ensure compliance with Zambian occupational health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create, standardize, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in line with Zambian occupational health and safety standards and industry best practices.

Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and injuries.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations, including the Zambian Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Training and Awareness: Organize and deliver safety training sessions for employees and management on topics such as safe equipment use, noise levels, and emergency procedures.

Workplace Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify non-compliance or hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, prepare detailed reports, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and coordinate emergency response plans, including drills for fire, mine rescues, or other incidents, ensuring all staff are well-prepared.

Promote Safety Culture: Foster a positive safety culture by advising on safety topics, encouraging safe work practices, and maintaining professional relationships with employees.

Maintain Safety Records: Track and document injury logs, near-misses, and safety reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and available for regulatory inspections.

Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with management, HR, and external regulatory bodies to ensure safety standards are met and new employees are onboarded with proper safety training.

Requirements

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or Public Health.

Certifications: Valid certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent accredited safety qualifications recognized in Zambia.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in [specify industry, e.g., mining, manufacturing, or construction].

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Zambian safety regulations, hazardous materials, and risk assessment practices.

Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety procedures and build relationships with employees.

Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate risks.

Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and training sessions with confidence.

Other

Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Valid driver’s license

2. PAINTERS

Responsibilities

Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, scrape, and prime surfaces (walls, ceilings, wood, metal, etc.) to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish.

Paint Application: Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and high-quality results.

Material Selection: Choose appropriate paints, primers, and finishes based on project requirements, surface types, and environmental conditions.

Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines and specifications.

Requirements
Education: Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate. A certificate or diploma in painting.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of proven experience as a painter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Skills:

Proficiency in painting techniques

Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings and their appropriate applications.

Ability to mix and match paint colors accurately.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality finish.
