We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Zambia’s growing general insurance sector.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will oversee and streamline the day-to-day operations across underwriting, claims, premium administration, and customer service. You’ll ensure these critical functions run smoothly and align with the company’s strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
This is a key role that requires operational excellence, strong leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced and evolving insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage operations across underwriting, claims, premium collection, and service delivery.
Monitor operational KPIs and provide performance reports to senior leadership.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and cost efficiencies.
- Support product launches and change management from an operations standpoint.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management standards are met.
- Manage departmental budgets and resource planning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Operations Management, or related field.
- Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. CII, COP) are highly desirable.
- 4–7 years of experience in insurance operations, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of general insurance products, claims, and underwriting processes.
- Experience with insurance IT systems and operational automation.
- Familiarity with Zambia’s insurance regulatory environment is a strong advantage.
