JOB DETAILS:
Purpose
The Operator for ancillary equipment plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the mining process. This position involves the safe and effective operation of graders and dozers to support various mining activities, including site preparation, material handling, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Operation: Operate graders and dozers for tasks such as site grading, slope stabilization, and road maintenance in compliance with safety protocols.
• Site Preparation: Prepare and maintain mine sites by grading surfaces, creating safe access roads, and managing drainage systems to facilitate mining operations.
• Material Handling: Assist in the movement and placement of materials as directed, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Maintenance Checks: Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and operational procedures to promote a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure efficient and coordinated operations.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and operational reports as required.

Qualifications:
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Heavy equipment operator certification.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating graders and dozers in a mining or construction environment.
Skills:
• Proficient in operating graders and dozers safely and effectively.
• Strong understanding of mining operations and equipment functionality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
