JOB DETAILS:
Operator Tetrapak Filling Machines
Job purpose
Reporting to Process Manager. The filling machine Operator is responsible for the production of good quality product and the smooth operation of the aseptic filling machine under the direction of the Filling / UHT Line Supervisor. To operate and maintain Tetra Pak Filling machines so that the product is within the specified quality standards, ensuring that the wastage (packaging and product) is within the specified limits.
• Responsible for quality, food safety and product specifications.
• Tetra Pak Filling Machine Operation & Troubleshooting.
• Responsible for operating of the Tetrapak filling machines, Aseptic pouch filling machines, cardboard packing machines, cap applicator machines
• Familiarity of Technical Operating System of filling machines and Packaging Machineries and Equipments.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
• Operating Tetra filling Machines i.e., carrying out weekly care as well as daily care before and after production.
• Observe the machine performance and report if any abnormal operation.
• Report potential breakdown to maintenance department to avoid production interruption.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
• Assist maintenance staff in performing the maintenance and repair job.
• Carry out routine checks on machinery as directed by maintenance engineer.
• Responsible to feed the right packaging materials to the filling machines on time as well as right quality.
• Recording & reporting all necessary parameters, sampling as well as palattization daily / batch sizes.
• Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
• Assist in checking quality of the product during production.
• Participate in maintenance activities and other related projects.
• Good knowledge about GMP (Sanitation & Hygiene) and HACCP (Food Safety).
• Participate in housekeeping as per agreed standards.
• Maintain High level of workplace hygiene and cleanliness.
• Maintain High level of personal hygiene and personal appearance
• must have basic computer skills, including Man Machine Interface (MMI)/HMI and data entry ability to climb ladders to clean conveyors
• Able to read and understand machine manuals like operation, maintenance, electrical, spare parts manual

Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years, preferably in the Tetrapak dairy & beverage filling industry.
• Education Level: Grade 12 certificates, Diploma and Degree courses
• Candidate should have relevant experience in beverage industry
• Qualifications: Diploma and/or degree in Production Management or relevant field
• Good Command in English Language, Nyanja and Bemba
• Abilities: proven abilities of a quality supervisor background.
• Personality: Self-motivated, Completing tasks on Time
