Background

Our client, a reputable automotive company in Zambia, is seeking to recruit a Parts Consultant.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and supplying passenger, light commercial and commercial parts to customers and internal teams. The role requires strong technical knowledge on Japanese vehicles like Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Ford and Isuzu. Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to use EPC and manage parts inventory efficiently to support maintenance, repairs, and sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise customers and technicians on the correct parts, accessories, and components.
  • Identify parts using catalogs and systems.
  • Process parts sales, quotations, and orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage parts inventory, including receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counts.
  • Handle returns and core exchanges where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records in the parts management system.
  • Support workshop and service teams with technical parts knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support repeat business.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Automotive Parts Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive parts sales or consulting, preferably with Passenger and Commercial Vehicles
  • Strong knowledge both practical and theoretical on vehicle systems (engine, drivetrain, suspension, braking systems).
  • Experience working with aftermarket parts.
  • Proficiency in parts catalog systems and ERP software.
