About the Human Rights Commission
The Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) is a National Human Rights Institution established under Article 230 of the 1991 Constitution of Zambia. Its constitutional mandate is to uphold and protect the Bill of Rights. The Commission is seeking applications from suitably qualified external candidates for the position of Personal Secretary.
The Main Purpose of the Role
To provide secretarial and administrative services to the Director-General’s office to facilitate the smooth operations of the Commission.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Administration Officer and will be responsible for:
- Recording accurate and timely appointments to facilitate decision making;
- Attending to and making telephone calls promptly to facilitate communication;
- Typing timely and accurate correspondence and documents to facilitate conveyance;
- Attending regularly to confidential correspondence to facilitate transmission.
- Attending to visitors to extend hospitality; and
- Undertaking the acquisition of refreshments to extend hospitality.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a full Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Level credits or better;
- Must have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies; 80/45 wpm;
- Must have a valid Professional Secretaries Association of Zambia Membership
- Must have at least two (2) years relevant post-qualification experience

Initiative, computer literacy, Confidentiality, and Interpersonal skills
