Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons in line with the school curriculum and international standards.
- Promote physical fitness, motor skills development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Organise and supervise indoor and outdoor sporting activities, games, and athletics.
- Identify and nurture learners’ talents in sports and physical activities.
- Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
- Assess learners’ physical development and maintain accurate progress records.
- Organise inter-house and inter-school sports events and competitions.
- Encourage positive behaviour, discipline, and inclusivity during physical activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding learners’ progress and participation.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
- Lead and coordinate the School House System to foster healthy competition, school spirit, and collective accountability among learners.
- Actively identify and nurture athletic talent, coaching school teams for various sporting disciplines.
- Manage all sports-related equipment and facilities, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching qualification and registration with the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ).
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience (experience in private or international schools is an added advantage).
- Strong knowledge of child development, fitness training, and sports rules.
- Ability to coach a variety of sports and physical activities.
- First Aid certification will be an added advantage.
