ActionAid Zambia has a vacancy for an experienced and suitably qualified Zambians to fill the position of PROGRAMME OFFICER- CHILD SPONSORSHIP – MBALA; DURATION: 10 MONTHS CONTRACT UNTIL 31ST DECEMBER 2021.
JOB PURPOSE
The role will support Regional Hubs to maintain quality whilst at the same time introduce innovation and new working practices.
To provide support in planning and implementation of sponsorship activities in line with the CSP and strategic objectives in regular giving. To Maintain zero backlog on sponsorship communication and NK management at the end of each mailing period and manage and provide support visits on Sponsorship activities at Regional Hubs in relationship to quality Child communication and reports production. .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising
• Implement sponsorship annual plans and budgets as per planning and budgeting guidelines.
• Support the LRP/Hub office to develop fundraising proposals relevant to the LRP context
Contract Reviews
• Contribute to the regular review and updating of the risk matrix related to fundraising and regular giving.
Advocacy and Networking Research
• Support and Facilitate advocacy engagements with key stakeholders including policymakers on thematic areas of interest to ActionAid
• Attend all key DDCC meetings as and when assigned by Hub Coordinator and other District stakeholders meetings and provide or influence ActionAid policy direction
Reporting
• Preparing timely and quality reports in line with AAZ’s Monitoring & Evaluation reporting cycle
Database management
• Manage and maintain the sponsorship NK database, produce and disseminate sponsorship performance summaries (SPS) and report tracking systems in line with the Sponsorship Policies and Procedures.
Donor Relations Profiling
• Facilitate the process of reporting to ActionAid Zambia supporters and ensure timely and effective communication to supporters to ensure sponsor satisfaction and retention.
• Maintaining and manage AAZ Funding Affiliate contacts relations in line with fundraising policies and IPD strategy.
Policy Initiations
• Contribute to the identification of new DAs for sponsorship growth in line with fundraising policies and IPD strategy.
Sponsorship Management
• Management of sponsorship activities supports for LRP and Non-LRP programmes i.e. during New Profile Collection, child message collection, photo updates, Community awareness and field staff/community training.
Annual plans and Budgets
• Participate in the preparing sponsorship annual Plans and Budgets as per planning and budgeting guidelines.
Monitoring
• Contribute to the country growth plan and expansion through LRP appraisal, case history planning and delivery; and coordinate the sponsorship phase-out. Follow up on the agreed sponsorship deliverables for assigned LRPs, and monitor the new supporter recruitment pattern.
Coordination of AAZ Strategy
• Contribute sponsorship and fundraising-related knowledge needs for AAIZ and its partners, coordinate the generation, storage and access to knowledge in line with the AAIZ Strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of Advanced Diploma or higher in Civic Education, Community Development, Development Studies, Sociology or it’s equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading and working within influential coalitions and networks;
• Experience in advocacy and campaigns on good governance;
• Experience in building capacity of community members;
• Experience in managing partnership relationships
• Ability to ride a Motorcycle with a valid license is an added advantage.
