The Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) is a non-governmental and not for profit organisation and is affiliated to the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The Association advocates for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and supplements the efforts of government and other service providers in the provision of integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health services.
PPAZ seeks experienced and qualified person to fill the following position:
Project Accountant – One (1) Position Lusaka
Position Summary
He/she will report to the Senior Accountant. The Project Accountant will contribute to the implementation of the project policies and procedures in compliance with established accounting standards, donor rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality program implementation Oversight of financial management and reporting for the programme ensuring effective project financial management and reporting systems are in place at the Member Association that deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and meet the financial compliance requirements of the project. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Process all payment requests relating to the projects timely and always issue receipts for incoming funds.
• Process all accounting vouchers i.e. payment vouchers, receipts and journal vouchers timely to ensure Financial Management Reports are produced on a timely basis.
• Ensure that all project staff imprest accounts are regularly and timely updated, and that no further imprest advances are given to staff members who have unretired imprest relating to previous month.
• Prepare and present to the supervisor bank reconciliations for all projects under his/her responsibility timely and ensure corrective actions are regularly taken.
• Ensure prompt and proper filing of all accounting documents relating to the projects under his control.
• Set timeline for receipt of accounting data from project sites and individual staff members to ensure monthly accounting closing datelines are met.
• Prepare monthly management reports.
• Carry out any other lawful duties as assigned by the superiors.
• To ensure gender is effectively mainstreamed within the remit of the post and in line with IPPF’s Gender Equality Policy.
• To build and maintain positive relationships with all members of staff, and contacts within and outside the Federation.
• To become familiar with the Federation’s Health and Safety Programme and Guidelines for using Visual Display Units. To do everything possible to ensure a healthy and safe working environment, including following instructions and guidance.

Job Qualifications:
• Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ levels.
• Bachelor of Accountancy Degree.
• Full Professional Qualification in accounting such as ZICA, ACCA, CIMA.
• Should have at least 3 years working experience with similar organization. Having an audit background will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of DFID,UNDP and Global Affairs Canada funding regulations and reporting standards as well government policies and regulations on Statutory Obligations and other taxation
• A Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• Relevant experience in managing financial operations of organizations of a similar or larger size.
• Excellent levels of interpersonal skills to disseminate information, communicate strategic direction, deal sensitively and fairly with all stakeholders and suitably resolve conflict where necessary.


Job Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Accountancy Degree.


Job Experience Requirements:
• Should have at least 3 years working experience with similar organization. Having an audit background will be an added advantage
