JOB PURPOSE

To utilise data to provide support for strategy formulation, business development, and forecasting

Responsibilities or duties

KEY RESULT AREAS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

KEY RESULT AREAS

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

Strategic Planning and Implementation

  • Ensure timely delivery on assigned tasked in the strategic plan process.
  • Ensure effective facilitation of strategic planning activities such conferencing facilities for strategic planning workshops
  • Ensure timely submission of relevant preliminary preparation such as data mining, preliminary assessments
  • Ensure timely preparation of zero draft documents and tools for data collection and analysis

Corporate Planning

  • Ensure timely submission of zero draft notes on the Corporate Balanced Scorecard to supervisor
  • Ensure effective facilitation of corporate planning meetings to facilitate development of departmental and corporate annual work plans and budgets
  • Ensure submitted departmental workplans are appropriately documented and filed
  • Ensure timely submission of the zero draft the IDC Annual entity operational report.

Corporate Performance Monitoring

  • Arrange departmental review meetings for quarterly workplan reviews
  • Ensure submitted departmental workplan review reports are appropriately documented and filed
  • Prepare the quarterly performance analysis data base for submission to supervisor
  • Prepare draft performance reports for submission to supervisor
  • Draft internal Customer Satisfaction Survey tools
  • Draft external Customer Satisfaction Survey tools
  • Analyse data and draft analysis report for submission to supervisor

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Prepare zero draft report and responses to queries from parliamentary committees and other government bodies as required.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis on the impact of legislative changes on the organization and its operations proposing recommendations for necessary actions.
  • Organise periodic business review meetings with subsidiary executives
  • Provide secretariate support in organising the annual Group conference for the furtherance of Group interests
  • Provide secretariate support in organising engagements with subsidiary companies to ensure alignment with then Group strategic goals and policies
  • Turn-around time for submitting analysis report of feedback from Group Conference after event

Information Provision

  • Undertake preliminary research activities on various sectors of the economy
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to produce accurate reports
  • Develop a database of sector-specific information
  • Ensure the timely provision of accurate data upon request
  • Undertake preliminary analysis on existing and proposed policies to determine their impact on IDC Group business and operations
  • Conduct preliminary business research activities to support business intelligence and market analysis.
  • Ensure timely submission of periodic Departmental research papers
  • Ensure timely submission of analysis on strategic positions and prevailing issues

Enhanced Group oversight and support

  • Undertake preliminary preparations in the provision of technical support to subsidiaries
  • Provide secretariate support in the provision of technical support to subsidiaries.

Improved Efficiency

  • Submit innovative suggestions for implementation to Supervisor
  • Complete department assignments within stipulated timelines
  • Complete department assignments to stipulated standards/quality
  • Turn-around time for producing economic watch research papers

Furtherance of Company’s Interests

  • Exercise the powers and duties generally exercised by Research and Strategy Analyst in the furtherance of the interests of the company as may be authorised and or delegated by the Supervisor.

Enhanced Employee Engagement and Performance

  • Timely submission of completed performance contract to supervisor.
  • Suggest and propose initiatives to support corporate values suggested to supervisor.
  • Ensure submission of completed Performance Appraisal form to supervisor.
  • Periodically submits required reports relating to mentorship and training/coaching programmes to the department in charge of Human Capital.

Healthy and Safety

  • Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as that of other employees, clients, and others as may be required from time to time.

Meetings

  • Attend staff/departmental meetings.

Any other Duties

  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Professional Qualification:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, and/or equivalent Professional Qualification in relevant field from reputable institution.
  • Relevant Professional Membership

Minimum Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2 years relevant work experience or similar position

Skill Specifications:

  • Excellent problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Data management and record keeping.
  • Proficient in using computers
