Job description:

Purpose of the role:

to assist team with complex medium to large-scale resettlement projects in line and compliant with IFC performance standards.

Job & Candidate Requirements 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating IFC compliant RAP’s with implementation, review and M&E with team
  • IFC compliance auditing and assessment
  • Technical skills in project management, GIS, socioeconomic baseline survey development, management and analysis, monitoring & evaluation, technical writing and visual communication
  • Accurate stakeholder engagement meeting planning, communication, record keeping
  • Lead asset survey and socio-economic analysis and applied research
  • Check spatial data and mapping
  • Automating and customizing RAP databases
  • FPIC
  • Implementation and monitoring of LRP in compliance with IFC/ World Bank standards

Qualifications Required Degree in Either:

  • MSc/ PhD Social Sciences
  • Social Impact Assessments (SIA)
  • Social Resettlement Project Management

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years international/ Africa resettlement action plans and implementation experience in specialist resettlement and development planning, resettlement compliance
  • Social safeguard and resettlement
  • Mining related social impact resettlement experience
  • IFC/ World Bank compliance auditing and assessment
  • Socio-economic survey research
  • Public participation and facilitation
  • Socio-economic analysis and applied research
  • Highly skilled in analyzing social issues, rural contexts and peri-urban settlement
  • Land tenure and land rights
  • Budgeting and resource allocation
  • Technical skills in project management, GIS, socioeconomic baseline survey development, management and analysis, monitoring & evaluation, technical writing and visual communication

Behavioural Traits Required:

  • Team player technical attention to detail
  • Honest, sober, not flexible to non-compliance
  • Trustworthy, expected to go the extra mile
  • Not politically motivated or connected
  • Diligent, professional and respectful to all
