JOB DETAILS:
Position: Security Officer
Position Reports to: Administration and Security Manager
Location: National Office
Purpose of the Position
To provide overall direction, operation and control of the Security Management for the World Vision Zambia National Office and Area Programmes in close coordination with the Administration and Security Manager. .

Major Responsibilities
Security Management
• Attend Security related meetings with other INGO’s and other Security Forums
• Ensuring guards are deployed and relieved on time
• Investigations of internal suspicious or unusual occurrences as delegated
• Cooperate with Local Law Enforcement Agencies
• Management of 3rd party Security Contracts
• Carries out random inspections of all WVZ locations
Fleet
• Strengthen Standardization and enforcement of fleet management procedures, guidelines and processes; especially the GPS (GEOTAB) fleet monitoring.
• Analyze and disseminate information from fleet management (GPS and any other) system for management decision.
• Promote and spearhead safety driving /riding of motorcycles and motor vehicles in the organization.
• Management of fleet and logistics related contracts for goods and services
• Support the implementation of the security management plan for the country program through providing adequate transport planning and support.
Capacity Building and Technical Training
• Coordinate the assessment, development and implementation of the National Office capacity-building plan for security management based on local security risk assessments.
• Seek to develop a culture of security awareness and monitor staff compliance
• Conduct relevant training for security focal point people.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
• Relevant Diploma or University degree in Security Studies, Risk Management, Strategic Studies, International Relations or Emergency Management.
• 3 years equivalent field experience in organizational Security and Risk Management.
• Proven experience in the professional security arena (INGO, Corporate, Military, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Services).
• Internationally recognized qualifications in Risk Management or Business Continuity would be an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of INGO security practices with proven experience in Security Risk Assessments (SRA), security planning and crises management in the humanitarian context.
• Must be First Aid qualified/certfied
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential
• Demonstrated personal values, attitudes and behaviors that are consistent with World Vision Core Values
• Understanding of setting threat or risk levels for specific contexts, considering the strategic and tactical situation as applied to humanitarian operations.
• Fluency in written and spoken in both English and at least one local language is required.
• Must have a clean valid driver’s license for normal vehicles and motorbikes.
