The Institution is a TEVETA-accredited tertiary training centre committed to providing high-quality technical and vocational education and training. In line with its mandate, the Institution seeks to recruit qualified and experienced

Trainers/Instructors to deliver programs across various Skills Awards and Trade areas.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

The recruited Trainers will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical training, assessing learners, and ensuring graduates acquire market-relevant skills in line with TEVETA standards and institutional guidelines.

3. Positions to be Filled

The Institution seeks to engage Trainers/Instructors in the following fields:

1.     Food Production (Meat Processing and Packaging)

2.     Events Management and Catering

3.     Automotive Engineering

4.     Solar Technology & Electrical

5.     Fashion, Fabric, and Design (Tailoring)

6.     Leather Work

7.     Heavy Equipment Engineering 

8.     Plumbing and Pipe fitting 

9.     Bricklaying and Masonry 

4. Key Responsibilities 

Deliver high-quality training sessions (practical and theoretical) in line with TEVETA curricula and competency-based education and training (CBET) standards.

  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment tools.
  • Conduct continuous assessment and final evaluations of learners.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and submit progress reports.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and career support to learners.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards in workshops/labs.
  • Participate in curriculum reviews, institutional meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Promote innovation and entrepreneurship within the training programs.

5. Qualifications and Experience General Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in the relevant field (a Degree is an added advantage).
  • TEVETA certification and registration as a Trainer/Instructor is mandatory.
  • At least 3 years of practical industry experience in the respective trade/field.
  • Proven ability to deliver competency-based training.
  • Good communication, mentorship, and organizational skills.

Field-Specific Requirements:

  • Food Production (Meat Processing):Diploma in Food

Production/Processing, Meat Technology, or related field with practical industry experience.

  • Events Management/Catering:Diploma in Events Management, Hospitality, or Catering, relevant work experience with a proven portfolio.
  • Automotive Engineering:Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering, trade test certification, and workshop experience.
  • Solar Technology:Diploma/Certificate in Renewable Energy, Electrical, or Solar PV installation (with TEVETA-recognized certification).
  • Electrical:Diploma in Electrical Engineering, valid practicing license, and hands-on technical skills.
  • Fashion, Fabric, and Design:Certificate/Diploma in Fashion Design, Tailoring, or Textiles with proven portfolio.
  • Leather Work:Certificate/Diploma in Leather Technology or Craft with practical workshop experience.
  • Heavy Equipment Engineering:Certificate/Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics/Engineering with practical operation and servicing skills.
  • Plumbing & Pipefitting:TEVETA-recognized Trade Test Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing.
  • Bricklaying & Masonry:TEVETA-recognized Trade Test Certificate or Diploma in Construction/Bricklaying.

 

6. Duration of Engagement:   Full-time engagement.

7. Reporting and Supervision

All Trainers will report to the Head of Training and Academics or their designated supervisor.
