Position Overview:
The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences that reflect the quality and sophistication of Ciela Resort & Spa. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled, organized, and passionate about culinary excellence, with the ability to lead and motivate the kitchen team in a fast-paced, fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in the planning and execution of high-quality, innovative menus
- Supervise daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow and consistent food quality
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation in accordance with resort standards
- Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring proper culinary techniques and safety practices
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen at all times
- Support in inventory management, food costing, and ordering of supplies
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
- Take charge of kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure seamless guest experiences
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a fine dining or luxury kitchen
- Culinary diploma or equivalent certification required
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of international cuisines, plating techniques, and kitchen procedures
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict quality standards
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Professional attitude and commitment to excellence
