Our client in Lusaka is looking for a Stores Administrator to join their team for a job vacancy within the automotive industry.

Financial & Accounting Support
– Processing customer payments and issuing invoices/receipts/credit notes.
– Handling cash deposits and other financial transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures and security protocols.
– Managing the store’s petty cash
– Reconciling daily sales and banking
– Auditing and maintaining robust cash handling procedures, including security measures to safeguard cash assets and prevent fraud or loss.
– Providing excellent customer service related to cash management enquiries and transactions, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Credit Control and Debtors
– Regularly monitoring outstanding debts and proactively following up on overdue payments.
– Monitor & report outstanding cash sales
– Effectively encourage customers to pay their invoices on time.
Inventory & Stock Management Support
– Overseeing the receipting and dispatching of stock, ensuring accuracy of deliveries.
– Reconciling orders for stock received (GRV’s)
– Categorizing and prioritizing products for efficient management and retrieval.
– Monitoring inventory levels and notifying management of low stock levels or discrepancies.
Regulatory Compliance
– Regularly assess store operations to identify potential compliance issues, such as violations of health and safety regulations, data privacy laws, or internal policies.
– Provide training to store staff on relevant compliance topics, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and how to comply with regulations.
– Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, working with store management to implement preventative measures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Finance Diploma or equivalent
- Degree in Accounting or related
- 1-2 years’ experience in Retail industry in similar position
Competencies:
Knowledge:
• Basic Tyre product knowledge is advantageous
• Computer literacy and proficiency in payment and financial systems (Sage)
• Ability to work with and lead team members
• Strong background in Retail operations
• Inventory management experience
• Financial Acumen: understanding of accounting principles, cash handling, and reconciliation

Sales and Business Development • Identify and secure new business opportunities by establishing contact with prospects and converting them into clients. • Handle inbound sales enquiries and follow up on leads. • Showcase our product or service to potential customers, highlighting its benefits and how it addresses their needs. Customer Relationship Management • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with the company’s products and services. • Utilizing CRM systems to collect, analyse, and interpret customer data to identify trends, preferences, and areas for improvement •Product Knowledge, Advice and Market Intelligence •Possess in-depth technical knowledge of tyres and accessory products, including features, benefits, and how they meet customer needs. •Understand practical aspects of fitting and stripping tyres, identifying defects, and knowledge of wheel alignment principles. Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to provide strategic guidance.
Skills and Experience: Bachelor or MBA degree, preferably in Business or Marketing. 2+ years of experience in project management and demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects with many stakeholders to deliver results on time. Knowledge of the sales and marketing fields, preferably in consumer durables and/or fast-moving consumer goods. Bilingual – Fluent in English and the local language Strong analytic/number-crunching background, particularly with sales and marketing data. High level of comfort working with high-level business clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, a desire to ‘sell for good’ and willing to get your “hands dirty”. Experience developing business strategies and plans. Experience managing key accounts across a range of distribution channels. Previous experience in market research or M&E. Sales & distribution work experience.
