Zambart is an independent Zambian research organization whose headquarters is at the University of Zambia’s Ridgeway Campus in Lusaka. Zambart is globally renowned for its interdisciplinary research on HIV and Tuberculosis and has contributed to HIV and TB policy and practice at national and global levels. Zambart’s research portfolio now includes a broader scope of urgent public health issues. Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication and counselling.

To support our wide range of research activities, we are looking for an ambitious, suitably qualified candidate to fill the following exciting position that has arisen:
Position: Study Coordinator (Lusaka)
Position Summary
The Study Coordinator will support the Study Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the POCUS4TB research Study. This role will play a key part in facilitating the successful execution of study activities by assisting with study coordination, general administration, meeting critical deadlines, and ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements. The incumbent helps plan, organize, and carry out essential tasks to maintain study integrity and support overall research objectives.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support the planning and implementation of the study by working with the PI and Study Manager.
Oversee the recruitment and follow ups of study participants ensuring adherence to study protocol and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate the procurement, utilization and control of equipment and materials in use by the study for administrative and operational purposes.
Manage the study database which includes ensuring that data is collected & entered correctly.
Compile and submit study progress reports/study updates showing achievements and challenges.
Track, monitor and report on the study budget to ensure proper control and accountability.
Managing and maintaining all study related documentation and correspondence.
Qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/public health or other related qualifications.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks, plan proactively, and accomplish goals.
- Must be self-motivated and adaptable to a dynamic environment.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Essential Skills Required
- Should have strong organisation and time management skills
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines
- Attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team
