Job Summary:

To ensure that recruited Security Officers are adequately trained on company policies and job expectations. Arrange for retraining of Security Officers who need retraining, make recommendations to management for any training needs, ensure full compliance in all training needs of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of this job are as follows:

  • Learn all training content for Gardaworld Zambia and ensure you gain expertise in the area of training
  • Ensure you gain expert knowledge of company use of force policy
  • Be responsible for the presentation, accountability & presentation of training area by ensuring the area is clean, all equipment is accounted for and any needs in the training are adequately identified and escalated to the relevant office
  • Ensure we have a minimum of 40% practical lessons in our courses by designing a training program that incorporates practical lessons as required
  • Present defensive driver & Motorcycle rider training course with OPS assistance
  • Ensure all staff undergo the basic guard course, and recommend retraining where necessary
  • Ensure inductions are correctly presented and recorded in every new Ops recruitments personnel file
  • Liaise with CHOT/OPS team to ensure refresher training programme is created, followed and recorded
  • Liaise with CHOT/OPS to keep the training matrix and refresher training matrix up to date and avail the same records to HR for record keeping
  • Plan advanced training such as control room training, ERT, Supervisor training, Rapid response training, etc.
  • Identify training gaps and plan to conduct training to close these gaps
  • Seek active feedback from stakeholders on the success of past training by providing regular updates with CHOT/Operations Management
  • Be pro-active and take initiative as you carry put your day to day duties
  • Maintain professionalism as a company representative in your role as a Trainer
  • Conduct field patrols (sometimes at night) to mentor/coach Operations staff & identify training gaps
  • Ensure that the post is beyond reproach and ensure recruitment & training operations are 100% corruption free
  • Ensure only recruits interviewed, scrutinised and selected by HR/Operations are trained.
  • Ensure that you identify and look for any red-flags, fraud or potential fraud at all times, i.e. ensure no applicants are paying for a job or to be interviewed, etc.
  • Be available to travel at short notice nationwide as operations dictates to provide operational training support

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full G12 Certificate
  • Diploma in Secondary School teaching or training at tertiary level – (Degree is an added advantage).
  • ICT skills are a MUST
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a teacher/trainer with experience in the security (military) industry.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License – Class C.
  • Possess a valid Motorcycle Rider’s License – Class A.
  • Must be aged between 30-45
