Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Waste Water Treatment Operator to join the versatile Process Maintenance Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor you will be responsible for water and wastewater plant operation with all requirements related to plant operation. To participate in plant shut down, inspection of plant and report writing. Working area coverage to include both mine and township area
Duties and responsibility for this position will include but not limited to the following.
- Operates and maintains wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum filters, and other equipment.
- Collects samples, prepares chemicals and performs routine tests for analyses of wastewater at various points in the treatment process, and records test results.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports related to the work. Assists in training others in work techniques. Performs related work and other tasks as assigned
- Manage Water and wastewater treatment plant operations
- Managing and monitoring water production and distribution across site
- Inspection of treatment plant and all related facilities and report all faults to maintenance team to ensure efficient operation
- Ensure both wastewater plants and portable water plants meet their required quality parameter standards.
To be considered for the position, one must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Certificate in Water and Wastewater engineering or equivalent
- Certificate in chemical engineering will be an added advantage
- Manual driving license minimum
- Experience in water treatment operation is an added advantage
- Good understanding of industry, Environmental and safety standards.
- Good communication skills
- Computer literate
