Goldenlay Agri. Ltd is the largest producer, supplier, and distributor of table eggs across Zambia, and boasting a brand familiar to retailers and consumers alike. Goldenlay is hereby inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates to fill in the position of a Workshop Foreman.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Workshop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our workshop. The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensure the efficient completion of work orders, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and assign tasks to workshop staff.
- Monitor work progress and ensure jobs are completed on time and to standard.
- Perform quality control checks on repairs, maintenance, and fabrication tasks.
- Enforce health and safety policies and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Provide technical support and guidance to technicians.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, job cards, time sheets, and inventory.
- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding work status.
- Order parts and materials as required.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions. Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma in [Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical / relevant field].
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on workshop experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license. Preferred Attributes:
- Certification in supervision or leadership (e.g., Foreman Leadership Training).
- Experience working in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Experience on Tata and Sino Trucks
