Job Summary:
The Assistant Head Chef will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations at our new Quick Service Restaurant in Ndola. This role involves assisting with food preparation, staff supervision, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during busy shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food prep and service.
- Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency across all menu items.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies to avoid shortages.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement new recipes and menu items.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a QSR or fast-casual restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of pizza, grill, and salad preparation techniques.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen.
- Familiarity with inventory management and food safety practices.
- Must be a Copperbelt resident or willing to relocate to Ndola.
