Branch Manager (x1)- Matero

Job Summary

The Branch Manager will oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, drive portfolio growth, ensure high‑quality customer service, and manage branch staff. The role requires strong leadership, excellent credit management skills, and the ability to meet performance targets in a microfinance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee branch operations, staff performance, and customer service delivery.
  • Drive loan portfolio growth through effective marketing and client relationship management.
  • Ensure quality credit appraisals, compliance to credit policies, and strong portfolio health.
  • Monitor loan repayments, arrears, and enforce timely collections.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly branch performance reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise branch staff to meet performance targets.
  • Resolve customer issues and maintain strong community and stakeholder relations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Banking, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services (supervisory experience is an added advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of credit processes and micro-lending.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in the field and conduct client visits
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic digital systems.
