The Branch Manager will be the primary leader responsible for the branch's profitability and operational excellence, with a specific focus on driving loan sales growth and managing the sales pipeline. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively lead, motivate, and mentor a team, while possessing deep expertise in various collateral-backed lending products. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives working autonomously with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Development (Primary Focus)

  • Lead the Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed branch targets for various loan products.
  • Loan Expertise: Drive sales of specialized loan products, demonstrating in-depth knowledge and proficiency in structuring and approving:
  • Collateral-Backed Loans: Mortgages, equipment financing, etc.
  • Salary Advances/Consumer Loans
  • Order/Local Purchase Order (LPO) Finance
  • Invoice Discounting/Factoring
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the entire loan origination process, from initial lead generation and client assessment to final disbursement and post-sale service.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and business partners to ensure repeat business and referrals.

2. Team Leadership and Management

  • Recruitment and Training: Hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of loan officers and branch staff.
  • Performance Coaching: Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve individual and team sales effectiveness.
  • Motivation and Culture: Foster a positive, goal-oriented, and ethical sales culture within the branch.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage branch resources effectively to optimize efficiency and customer service.

3. Operational Oversight and Compliance

  • Risk Management: Ensure all lending activities comply with the institution's policies, regulatory requirements, and sound risk management practices, especially concerning collateral valuation and documentation.
  • Reporting: Generate timely and accurate reports on sales performance, branch profitability, credit quality, and operational metrics for senior management.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services, with at least 1 years in a managerial or supervisory role focused on lending/sales.

Technical Knowledge (Mandatory):

  • Proven expertise in structuring and selling diverse commercial and consumer credit products.
  • Deep understanding of Collateral-Backed Loans, Salary Advances, Order Finance, and Invoice Discounting.
  • Strong grasp of credit analysis, financial statements, and lending risk mitigation.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop a successful sales team.
  • Independence: Exceptional self-management and organizational skills, with the proven ability to work under minimum supervision and consistently meet deadlines and targets.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Full grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and English

Diploma/ Degree in business Administration, Marketing or any Business related program.

NB: The job offers a fixed salary and a performance based commission
