Position Summary
Manjapamodzi Innovations Limited seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Officer (BDO) to support the company’s growth, strengthen client relationships, and identify new business opportunities across its consulting portfolio. The BDO will play a key role in proposal development, partnership building, and market positioning to advance the company’s mission and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is an early-career professional eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable collaborating virtually using tools such as MS Teams, Zoom, and Google Drive, and can effectively work remotely for extended periods while maintaining a high standard of performance and communication.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s vision and mission.
- Identify and pursue new consultancy opportunities with development partners, government institutions, and the private sector.
- Conduct market intelligence and stakeholder mapping to inform strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate proposal development, including drafting technical inputs, preparing budgets, and ensuring timely submission of bids.
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and collaborators at local and international levels.
- Contribute to brand visibility through communication materials, events, and digital engagement.
- Track and report on business development performance, including pipeline management and success rates.
- Support management in improving service offerings and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to consultants, ensuring seamless delivery of services for which they are contracted.
- Develop a database of highly skilled Consultants and keep it clean and updated all the time.
- Contribute to knowledge management, proposal databases, and quality assurance systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, Project Management or a related field.
- 0 - 2 years of progressive experience in business development, fundraising, or consultancy services preferably in the development or advisory sector.
- Demonstrated ability to write winning proposals and manage client relations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project tracking tools is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
