Job Purpose:
The Chef will oversee the preparation of high-quality meals, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to creating a delightful culinary experience for guests at Magodi Tented Lodge. This role requires creativity, leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare menus that align with the lodge’s standards and guest preferences.
- Cook and present dishes with consistency and attention to detail.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and minimize food wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal or special event menus.
- Monitor food quality and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Formal culinary training or diploma in culinary arts (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a chef in a reputable establishment.
- Proven expertise in preparing a variety of cuisines, including local and international dishes.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership skills and experience managing a kitchen team.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
