DEAN OF STUDENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing strong leadership in all aspects of student affairs.
  • Overseeing student discipline, welfare, and behavioural support systems.
  • Coordinating student activities, clubs, and extracurricular programmes.
  • Ensuring compliance with school policies, statutory regulations, and safeguarding standards.
  • Leading conflict‑resolution processes, counselling interventions, and disciplinary hearings.
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and administrators to promote student success.
  • Managing student records, preparing reports, and supporting the overall academic environment.

  • Student‑centered, approachable, and emotionally intelligent.
  • High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education Management, Leadership and Management, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field.
  • Master's degree in Education Management, Leadership and Management, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field.
  • PhD in Education Management, Leadership and Management, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in educational leadership, student affairs, or school administration.
  • ZAQA‑certified qualifications.
  • Active affiliation to relevant professional bodies, such as:
    • Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ)
    • Zambia Guidance & Counselling Association (ZGCA)
    • Other recognized educational or professional organisations
  • 5 O‑levels including English and Mathematics.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing student discipline and welfare frameworks.
