Background

Brilliance Executive Management Consultancy Limited (BEMCONSULT) has been engaged by one of its clients, a regulator to assist in the identification and recruitment of a seasoned HR practitioner.

Job Purpose

The Director HR and Administration will be responsible of coordinating all strategic human resources and administrative services in order to achieve the strategic goals of the organization. be responsible for leading the transformation and embedding of an organization's culture. Champion the company’s values through strong leadership and inspirational behaviour. Advise and strategize on the development of effective employment policies across the company.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of the HR Strategy and core areas of the HR department including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workforce Administration, Employee Engagement, Payroll, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and management of the HR budget.
  • Coordinate effectively human resources function in order enhance individual and organizational performance
  • Drive the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement & welfare activities, maximizing productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability.
  • Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the organizational culture, ensuring that the company values and approach are displayed.
  • Execute a plan for diversity, equality, and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments.
  • Coordinate effectively human resource development in order to enhance human capital
  • Coordinate timely provision of administrative and logistical support services in order to facilitate efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Coordinate timely review and accurate interpretation of Terms and conditions of service in order to enhance adherence to service regulations
  • Coordinates effectively the development and implementation of staff wellness and HIV/AIDS programmes in order to promote a healthy workforce.
  • Coordinate regularly the formulation, review and implementation of Human Resource and administrative policies in order to provide guidelines.
  • Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the organizational culture, ensuring that the company values and approach are displayed.
  • Execute a plan for equality, and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments.
  • Coordinate timely preparation and implementation of action plans/budgets in order to facilitate the attainment of set objectives and resource mobilization.
  • Coordinate timely development of departmental and individual work plans in order to monitor and evaluate individual performance
  • Manages effectively the utilization of financial and materials resources in the department in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Regularly coach, mentor and support senior and high potential colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships and encourage retention.
  • Ensure line managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Degree in Human Resources Management, or its equivalent
  • Masters in HR Management, or its equivalent will be a plus
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive HR & Administration experience of which five (5) years at senior management level
  • Proven excellent knowledge of HR practices and development of effective employment policies.
  • Vast working knowledge of all HR departmental areas, including reward and recognition, welfare, learning and development, as well as HR systems and budgets.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing departments and teams.
  • Ability to develop and nurture relationships across departments.
  • Must have experience in analyzing and reviewing HR data to identify trends.
  • Must be a full member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIHRM)
