We seek to hire a Driver who will be responsible for safely transporting staff, clients, and goods to designated locations while ensuring the vehicle is maintained in excellent condition. The role requires a professional and dependable individual with strong knowledge of road safety regulations and excellent navigation skills. The Driver will also assist in logistical and administrative support as needed to contribute to the efficient operation of the organization.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe and Efficient Transportation
– Safely transport staff, clients, and goods to assigned destinations in a timely manner.
– Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
– Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and traffic laws at all times.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
– Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
– Schedule and perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire checks, and other necessary repairs.
– Report any vehicle issues or damages promptly to the Logistics and Operations Manager.
3. Documentation and Records Management
– Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and mileage.
– Ensure all necessary documentation, including vehicle insurance and registration, is up to date and available.
– Assist with the delivery and collection of packages, documents, or supplies as assigned.
4. Customer Service and Professionalism
– Provide excellent service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
– Exhibit a courteous and professional demeanor at all times when interacting with staff, clients, and the public.
– Represent the organization positively by adhering to its values and standards.
5. Logistical Support
– Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
– Support the administration team with errands, such as bank deposits, purchases, or other assignments.
– Participate in organizational events or activities that require logistical coordination.
Qualifications and Skills
-Education: Grade 12 Certificate.
– A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for not less than 2 years is required.
– Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
– Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and road safety practices.
– Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local routes and areas.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
– Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.
– Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure or in unforeseen circumstances.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
– Adherence to schedules and on-time arrivals.
– Maintenance of a clean and well-functioning vehicle.
– Compliance with road safety regulations and traffic laws.
– Positive feedback from passengers and supervisors.
– Accurate and timely submission of trip and maintenance records.
