Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)
Reports to the District Coordinator. The incumbent will safely and timely drive and maintain project vehicles to facilitate mobility of project staff, materials and equipment.
Responsibilities or duties
- Undertakes effectively driving of the vehicles allocated so as to ensure the safety and timely movement of officers and materials
- Prepares timely reports on the occurrence of road traffic accidents in order to facilitate prompt remedial actions
- Completes timely log books in order to enhance accountability of motor vehicle utilisation
- Undertakes regularly inspections of the vehicle’s road worthiness so as to avoid traffic accidents and unnecessary breakdowns
- Produces summary of vehicle usage reports and ensure CIDRZ policy and standards are adhered to
- Reports all accidents and defects on motor vehicle in accordance with CIDRZ policy
- Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle - check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc., perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the field supervisor, senior project staff or Fleet Officer.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Grade 12 certificate
- Class “C” Driver’s License
- Excellent English language, oral and written communication skills.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 2 years work experience driving with proven dean record

- Based in the implementation Districts.
