Job description:
PURPOSE
Responsible for identifying and managing asset reliability risks and monitoring losses and high-maintenance cost assets. To Optimize Maintenance Strategies by creating business cases based on Reliability Centered Maintenance Metrics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function;
- Works with Section Superintendents to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
- The Shovel and Excavator Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and adhering to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of EX5600-7 and Liebherr Excavators.
- Propose mitigation, e.g. requirements, design changes, detection logic, maintenance, training, by which the risks may be lowered and controlled for at an acceptable level
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance: reliability Centered maintenance (RCM) analysis on the Hugh voltage electrical system and Hydraulic System.
- Monitor the Condition of undercarriage and structural of the entire machine, and implement and manage Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) on site. This includes, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), condition monitoring, Cost analysis and reliability breakdown on all maintenance components.
- Mentor Junior Engineers and other maintenance execution personnel in understanding advanced functions of predictive maintenance, RCFA and play a key role in the development of a reliability culture and maintenance best practices.
- Conduct Quality Assurance, for scheduled task such as Pm and servicing, ensuring al quality is applied and prevent the repetition of faults.
- Develop Trending measures to establish life of undercarriage and structural frames for all assets.
- Lead, participate in, and advocate Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) application including interpretation of CBM data.
- Develop thorough SOP(standard Operation procedure) on structural repairing techniques and process .
- Mentor to Senior Supervisor and foreman on best practices of maintenance.
- Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect equipment operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade twelve (12) school certificate or equivalent;
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Welding structural specialist
- Proven experience with programming languages such as SQL and DAX
- Strong background in data analysis
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
- Extensive knowledge in ERP systems such as Pronto.
- Proficient in Conditional Monitoring techniques (i.e. solid background in oil analysis), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes/ Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance/reliability with a proven track record of open pit, truck and shovel operations.
- Previous experience as reliability engineer would be advantageous.
